7's Tournament

I should be reading my French book...I really should...but instead, I've decided to write a blog about the rugby 7's tournament that happened yesterday!

It was an amazing day...I was really nervous going into the tournament but I think I played really well and I almost scored :) Except then I got caught in a maul and so I passed the ball to Bianca and she scored! I made some awesome tackles too!! And my team played AMAZINGLY...SO AMAZINGLY that we WON the tournament for midget!!! We beat BHS, CVR and Stanstead. I love my gold medal. I am officially obsessed with it :) Except the "rugby ball" on it looks a bit too much like a football.

I also got a tan since we were outside the whole day, which is the best part of all this!

But skating today wasn't so great because I am SOOO sore from rugby...because the problem with 7's is that you are sprinting for the whole game (which is 15 minutes long...but still, sprinting for 15 minutes straight is a lot!) even if you don't have the ball because you are running as support or chasing the person with the ball on the other team to tackle them! So yeah, skating was interesting...I couldn't jump that well and my spins were not that great either. Oh well, the gold medal makes skating not seem so bad :)

Alright, well I dont know if anything I wrote makes any sense, because I am ridiculously tired (and I still have a cold...I've had it for almost a week)... I should go to bed. But I'm not going to. I know it.

Check out this super intense picture that I found. It was on the GMAA website for some reason...anyway I think it's the cross country race! Or Halo from last year? Anyway I have no clue but yay it's me, Alex, Kia, and Lianna!

What the hell happened to my feet?

I'm just taking a break from studying science (I hate pH) and I thought I would write a mini-entry here! So hi. :)

I sprained my ankle at rugby last week and so I haven't gone running or skating in a while...I'm getting pretty bored here...I attempted to skate yesterday and I couldn't land jumps past single loop so I gave up and worked on spins and skills. On the bright side of things, my sit spin and layback are now awesome :)

Please watch this:

You will not regret it. It never gets old. And it's wayyyy too funny for it's own good.

There's a huge pothole in front of my house.

Alright well I have to go back to pH=-log [H+]. I'll write more tomorrow...hopefully :)

Knock knock!

Blogging for English Class

Yes, we have to write a blog for English...but it's a blog on a book that we read over March break which is kind of strange. We had to choose a pseudonym (either an author or literary character) and we have to sign all our blog entries with that name. It's a really weird project and we have WAY too much work for English due this week...grr...

I don't have time to write right now because I have 3 Actualité magazines to read and write about for French class and a whole poetry assignment to do for English as well as some weird writing assignment on food to do for English and my tidbit for history and science notes to write and questions to answer on those notes and piano to practice and math to review for a quiz on systems of equations that I forget how to do. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

BY THE WAY, MONTREAL WEST SOCCER IS SOON! ANNE, ARE YOU PLAYING?

I skated yesterday...I was supposed to test but I didn't because I hadn't had a lesson with my dance coach in 3 and a half months (he went to Europe on a tour...) and yesterday was my first lesson with him in all that time and the test was yesterday afternoon. So yes. That's why I didn't do my dance test. But, in May, I'm officially testing:

Jr. Bronze freestyle (elements and solo because I probably could have passed the elements a long time ago and solo is easy to pass)
Sr. Bronze skills (I suck at them but I WILL be ready by May hopefully...)
Rocker (dance that I was supposed to test yesterday)
Harris Tango (another dance that I need to pass for me to move up to the next level)

Yay! That is going to be an expensive test day because each test is $10 so it will cost me $50.

Next time I write, I'll give you a full out description of scuba diving, which I did during March break, as well as lots of detail about my Mexico band trip. I want to write this now because I don't want to go do my homework but I'll have to refrain myself....lol so stay tuned!! :D

It's time for a pointless rant because I have nothing else more intellectual to write about

Ok who made up the word phenolphthalein? I hate it. I really do. I mean it sounds cool, sure, when you can pronounce it properly. But there are way too many ways to mess up in the spelling of it. In my December science exam, I spelled it the following ways:

1) phenolphtalein
2) phenolphthaline
3) phenolpthalein

Three different ways, none of which were correct.

I also can't figure out who in the world decided to put a PH and a TH in a row in a word. It is not physically possible for me to say those two sounds together. I end up spitting at who ever is in front of me at the moment I am struggling to pronounce PHTH and then I end up pronouncing it WRONG! IT's not even that hard to pronounce!!!! My science teacher can say it correctly, AND with a Turkish accent, which must be even harder. And then theres me, sitting at hte back of the science class, wondering how in the world people can say PHTH so easily. You know what's also annoying? The fact that we have to write "It turned fuschia" instead of PINK is because FUSCHIA IS HARDER TO SPELL AHHH. Apparently the science people in Quebec are trying to make my life difficult.

Alright, well to conclude, I am writing because I'm avoiding studying my science notes in an attempt to figure out how exactly I am going to memorize [H+] = invlog (-pH) and all all the other little formula things that we will probably have a quiz on on Monday.

On a different note, I skated this morning and my coach made fun of me for 30 minutes straight. Well, pretty much. It was funny :)

The Best Skate in the World...

On Wednesday, I had the best skate in the world...

I got to the rink and was really tired...and on top of that I had first lesson RIGHT at 4:00 and so I didn't have time to warm up, but apparently that didn't matter.

My spins weren't any better than usual...except my coach made me try layback-back sit which was pretty hard and wasn't very pretty :P but at least I tried!

I warmed up my jumps super quickly, then landed 3 really nice axels in a row and moved onto double salchow. My double salchows were pretty good..not as good as they have been in the past, but I was going at them with a lot of speed and so I was rotating faster! Then I worked on double loop, which got REALLY good out of nowhere last week. I landed a bunch of them (a little cheated but much better than they were up until about a week ago) and also started to rotate faster in the air on that jump. SO, my coach had me work on double flip, which she only ever does if I'm really really really good in a lesson! And apparently I was because I worked on double flip and even that was really good! I had really good position in the air...then only problem was, I took a pretty ugly fall after trying about 4-5 double flips and killed my knee...BUT THAT'S OK BECAUSE I HAD THE BEST SKATE IN THE WORLD..I'm still excited about it :D

Haha...look at my hair...

Vinyls are cool.

I raided my parents' vinyls. They're the coolest things ever. I kind of want to steal them...but I don't think my parents would ever trust me again if they suddenly found out all their records were missing and then found me hiding in my room with the turntable :)

Well, since I haven't posted in a while, I should probably give you an update, but sadly, there really isn't much to update you on! Since school started, I've been really busy! Between skating and school and band and piano, I don't have too much free time anymore!

I now teach these 3 little girls during public skating sessions. They are extremely cute, but they suck at skating! So it is going to be an interesting experience...But I get to make money so that's also exciting! My mom is happy about that because she seems to think that I'm going to start paying for my own skating lessons now...whereas my coach is happy about it because she thinks that now I'll just have some extra pocket money...I agree with my coach's perspective on this :) lol

Since I'm talking about skating, I GOT MY AXEL BACK TODAY! FINALLY! I had lost it for a while, but today I ate a huge breakfast before skating and then worked really hard for 2 hours straight and my axel came back :) My double salchow and double loop were kind of bad, but my axel definitely makes up for those jumps!!! I'll have to get my dad to video tape me at skating one of these days, though. I really want to know what I look like when I skate because I think that would probably really help me with my jumps!

For my school's ski day, I'm going snowboarding! I'm sooo excited. Me and a couple of friends are taking a lesson together (hopefully we will be in the same group) and we will hpefully make enough progress during our lesson so that we don't need to "take another lesson in the afternoon to safely increase our skill level on the beginner slopes".

Alright, well believe it or not I have to go. Sorry this has been a quick post, but I will write more tomorrow, hoepfully. I really cannot type the word "hopefully".

Luke: [alarm goes off] Sorry, I forgot to turn the alarm off.
Lorelai: Bad alarm. Bad, bad alarm.
Lorelai: What time is it?
Luke: Early.
Lorelai: Hate early. Must kill early.
Lorelai: Okay, gotta get up.
Luke: Why?
Lorelai: Work. Inn. Buy shoes. Oh, my God, I can't move. I need coffee.

I HAVE MY PERMIT...

YES, I HAVE MY PERMIT...AHHH...

The test was the most stressful test of my life...but I passed! I found the first 2 sections really easy, but I DIED in the 3rd...
You had to score 24/32 to pass...I got 25/32....haha oops :) buuuuut yeah...the mistakes I made were pretty stupid..because the book and the test contradicted each other! but thats ok because I still passed and now don't have to do through that stres again!

EXAMS ARE OVER AND ITS WINTER BREAK!!!!

So a little review on my exams:

Science: really easy
Science lab: not enough time ahhh
French: oh my my text was horrible
Biology: annoying
Math: kind of hard
History: alright...but I hate the wording the government uses!!!!!

TOMORROW I'M GOING TO ARIZONA! Except I'm not quite finished packing...time to go do that....

I'll probably write when I'm there...but just in case I don't, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Haha...science fair...

Soo I probably won't get to skate again until after the break..its kind of sad...but I PASSED MY AMERICAN (did I tell you that yet???) AND I LANDED A CHEATED DOUBLE FLIP so I'm happy with Tuesday's skate being my last until the new year. My axel is still not back, but hey, I'll take a cheated double flip :)

OK that's enough... it's time for me to go pack...
